After a string of three wins, NCSSM: Morganton's's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cherryville.
NCSSM: Morganton's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lawson Taylor, who scored 17 points. The matchup was Taylor's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahul Soletti, who scored 12 points.
NCSSM: Morganton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Cherryville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Morganton is on the road again on Thursday and play against Patton at 6:30 p.m. on November 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Patton is ranked 52nd, while NCSSM: Morganton is ranked 49th). As for Cherryville, they will head out on the road to face off against West Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
