The Palisade Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 62-51 to Glenwood Springs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Palisade in their matchups with Glenwood Springs: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hunter Howard, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Layne Ruppelius was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Leading Glenwood Springs to victory were Alec Claassen and Sim Wenger. Claassen dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Wenger scored 20 points. Claassen continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cale Sollars, who scored seven points.
Palisade has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Glenwood Springs, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-8.
Palisade will head out on the road to face off against Grand Junction Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glenwood Springs, they will be playing at home against Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
