AAAA Region 7B recap Nov. 7, 2012
Ridgeland extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region 7B this week by beating Heritage, 56-14. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Northwest Whitfield moved up to 170 from 218 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bruins were able to make move up by defeating LaFayette 47-7.
Dalton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Catamounts feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cole Calfee has thrown for 848 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Brandon Dale has 32 catches for 599 yards. Kelvis Rhodes leads the league in rushing with 1320 yards.
The top two teams in AAAA Region 7B will face off this week when first place Ridgeland takes on second place Dalton. Last week, Ridgeland beat Heritage, while Dalton bested Southeast Whitfield County.
The Panthers took down Heritage 56-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
