West Valley and University Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Eagles will take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 14 games.
West Valley barely beat Central Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Aubree Wertz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Kelsey Roble and Addy Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Roble went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Taylor went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Roble a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cadynce Gippner, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday University Prep sidestepped Central Valley for a 2-1 victory.
Rylynn Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 17 Ks.
At the plate, University Prep's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addison Petty, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
West Valley's record now sits at 21-1. As for University Prep, their record is now 8-13.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. West Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.7 hits per game. However, it's not like University Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Valley might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from University Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
