Tabernacle Christian strolled past Union Grove Christian with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 50-33. Given Tabernacle Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Union Grove Christian is ranked 409th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Union Grove Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sara Long, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds, and Jordyn Delaney who scored six points along with eight rebounds. Those 16 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Tabernacle Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Union Grove Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Tabernacle Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hibriten at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. After both having extra time off, Union Grove Christian and Elkin will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
