After a string of seven wins, Carver High School of Engineering & Science's's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by Pennington on the road and fell 71-40. While losing is never fun, Carver High School of Engineering & Science can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 73rd in Pennsylvania, while Pennington is ranked 14th in New Jersey).
Several Carver High School of Engineering & Science players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lut Young, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Young has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Brown, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Pennington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver High School of Engineering & Science and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Hopefully Central Jersey College Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
