University School came out on top against North Royalton on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Preppers took their game against the Bears 9-5. Winning may never get old, but the Preppers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Jack Nelson and Bryce Fielding did most of the damage at the plate: Nelson went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Fielding went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Fielding has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Deacon Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 13-2. As for North Royalton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.
University School and North Royalton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Preppers will square off against Elyria Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (66 vs. 360). Meanwhile, North Royalton (ranked 137th) will meet Brecksville-Broadview Heights (ranked 300th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
