The Washington Blue Lions will challenge the Adena Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Washington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Paint Valley 18-8 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blue Lions as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.
Olivia Haycook was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off ten hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Jayden Skeens and Cara Dean did most of the damage at the plate: Skeens went 2-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple, while Dean went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Dean a new career-high. Hailey Lemaster was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases and two RBI.
Washington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 8.8.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Adena, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Southeastern on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Jo Jett, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Mallow, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Washington's win bumped their record up to 2-21. As for Adena, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
