The Nandua Warriors won the last time they faced the Poquoson Islanders, and things went their way on Monday too. Nandua skirted past the Islanders 53-50. The win made it back-to-back wins for Nandua.
Nandua's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makai Dorn, who scored 15 points. Dorn is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Nazere Blake, who scored ten points.
Jayson Kell and Khaleo Smith certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Kell scored 16 points, while Smith scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dayne Galacgac, who scored seven points.
Nandua now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Poquoson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nandua won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Firebirds at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Arcadia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully the Warriors like a good challenge. As for Poquoson, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Warhill is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
