The biggest upset of the week belonged to San Leandro, who took down 424th ranked San Leandro, 26-21.
Hayward moved up to 524 from 601 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Alameda County - Foothill. The Farmers were able to make the jump by defeating the Pirates 26-21.
AKIL BORDELON was the best wideout in the league this week as Berkeley defeated Encinal. BORDELON tallied three receptions for 55 yards. JOHN ADAMS helped Berkeley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 35 yards.
Taivale Tautalatasi put up the best numbers through the air as the Jets fell to the Yellowjackets. He finished with two completions for 31 yards and one touchdown. Tautalatasi's favorite target this week was Chris Gatling, who caught one pass for 17 yards.
ADAMS was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 61 yards as Berkeley beat Encinal. BORDELON also contributed to the rushing game with 19 yards on the ground.
LAMONT SMITH provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Yellowjackets defeated Joe Tenorio's team. He completed 10 passes for 137 yards and also ran for six yards.
Berkeley's SMITH and BORDELON have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading West Alameda County - Foothill in both passing and receiving yards. SMITH has thrown for 513 yards this season, while BORDELON, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 12 catches for 200 yards. Corey Sails from the Jets leads the league in rushing with 355 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hayward takes on Bishop O'Dowd. The Farmers are in third place, while the Dragons are in first place.
Bishop O'Dowd extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Castro Valley, 34-20. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
