The Easley Green Wave can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 38-28 win over Pickens. The victory was all the more spectacular given Easley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Blue Flame are ranked 14th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Easley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Gramblin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Gramblin is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Meya Mckinney, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Pickens saw an underclassman step up: Ava Owens scored nine points along with six rebounds. Maggie Chambers was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 12 rebounds.
Easley's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Pickens, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3.
Easley will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pickens, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m.
