The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wills Point, who took down 509th ranked Kaufman, 52-47. Chase Pemberton threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 106 yards in the win.
The Tigers moved up to 661 from 731 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region II District 14. Wills Point climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Lions 52-47.
Tre' Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as Kevin Garvin's team defeated Kaufman. Smith racked up seven receptions for 133 yards. Jah Golden helped Wills Point's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 124 yards.
Dominique Granville was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 181 yards on 34 carries as the Tigers bested Todd York's team.
Ryan Long threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns. He was 20-33 with one interceptions.
Wills Point's Pemberton and Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A Region II District 14 in both passing and receiving yards. Pemberton has thrown for 2261 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 51 catches for 918 yards. Ford's Taylor Sikorsky leads the league in rushing yards with 1327.
Smith of the the Tigers' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 82 receiving yards in this week's game against Rains to get there.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Crandall. As it stands, Ford is in first, while the Pirates are in fourth.
Crandall and the Wildcats played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Crandall eventually emerging with a 34-33 victory. Long ran for six yards in the win.
