The Sapulpa Chieftains have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 55-41 to Memorial. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sapulpa has scored all season.
Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Powell, who scored 11 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Jaden Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Sapulpa's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Memorial, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sapulpa will square off against Edison at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Edison's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches. As for Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Durant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Durant is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
