Baseball Recap: Columbus Victorious

While Columbus's win against Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sailors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Knights on Tuesday. The Sailors haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Columbus pushed their record up to 9-16-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Columbus wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-5 loss against Wapsie Valley on the 25th. Union has also already played their next game (against Dike-New Hartford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
