Softball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Pine Bush's Winning Streak

Pine Bush dropped their record down to 8-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Middletown Middie Bears by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Bushmen's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Middletown, they now have a winning record of 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for they as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

For Middletown's part, Bethannie French spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, Middletown's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alissandra Soto, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pine Bush is set to face off against their familiar foe Newburgh Free Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Middletown will take on rival Monroe-Woodbury at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
