Baseball Recap: Bellefonte's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bellefonte extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 5-4 in the process. They put the hurt on the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders with a sharp 20-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Peyton Vancas was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Parker VonGunden, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Bellefonte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.

As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

On Bishop Guilfoyle's side, they got a massive performance out of Brody Gartman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Hamilton Gates, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.

Coincidentally, Bellefonte and Bishop Guilfoyle will both be playing Hollidaysburg the next time they take the field. The Raiders will host the Golden Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Marauders will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
