Washington Academy is  a perfect 10-0 against Calais since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field  against the Blue Devils  at 4:30  p.m. Washington Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1  runs per game  this season.
On Monday, Washington Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Bucksport. They had just enough and edged out the Golden Bucks  7-6.

 Trevor Shimabukuro and  James Welch were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Shimabukuro   struck out ten batters over  6.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and five unearned) runs off   three  hits. Meanwhile,  Welch   pitched 1.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. That's the most  strikeouts  Shimabukuro has posted since back in May. At bat,  Shimabukuro  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs, while  Welch  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI. Welch is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last six games he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Colby Moholland was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in May. Another player making a difference was  Daniel Gardner, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
Meanwhile, Calais came up short against Machias on Monday and fell  6-1. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Calais saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Noah White, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 Washington Academy's victory was  their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 13-2. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Calais, they now  have a losing record of 6-7.
Calais' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Washington Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Calais, though, as  they've  only  averaged .224. Will they be able to contain Washington Academy's hitters?
 Washington Academy took their  victory against Calais  in their previous matchup  back in May by a conclusive  10-0 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success,  or do  the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
