Meanwhile, Cottage Hill Christian Academy came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Hurricanes by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-4. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Madison Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Another player making a difference was Jaylyn Mosley, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Elberta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-21-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Elberta couldn't quite finish off Cottage Hill Christian Academy in their previous meeting on Saturday and fell 8-6. Can Elberta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
