Lone Star has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Reedy has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Rangers will welcome the Lions at 6:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Lone Star made easy work of Creekview and carried off a 9-1 win.
BellaLucia Cantu made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Cantu was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Makala Wallace was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Camryn Allen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Reedy faced off against The Colony on Friday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Cougars. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Addison Daudelin looked comfortable as she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sierra Petersdorf, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Crosby, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.
Reedy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 7-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Lone Star has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Reedy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lone Star has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Reedy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lone Star came up short against Reedy in their previous meeting back in March, falling 14-9. Will the Rangers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
