Strasburg proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Central Woodstock Falcons. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Ava Mayhew spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Karaline Brill was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Hannah Merriner, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Strasburg's record is now 14-7. As for Central Woodstock, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-2.
