The Mount Juliet Golden Bears can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Smyrna and snuck past 47-45. The win was just what Mount Juliet needed coming off of a 63-34 loss in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why Smyrna lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyreque Mccarver. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points. Ze'keice Mccarver was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Mount Juliet's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Smyrna, they bumped their record down to 5-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Smyrna will be home for the holidays to greet Cane Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cane Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
