After losing to the Bethel Christian Academy Crusaders the last time they met, the Bethel Christian Academy Eagles decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 40-29 on Friday.
Leading the Eagles to victory were Lexi Mendez and Cherish Carson. Mendez scored 19 points along with two steals, while Carson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mendez has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points.
The Eagles are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for the Crusaders, they bumped their record down to 4-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Bethel Christian Academy will take on Haywood Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Haywood Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
