Rylee Plemmons was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Ball, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Paige Peek was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Madison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mountain Heritage's offense. They lost 15-0 to Owen on Friday.
Mountain Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Madison, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Mountain Heritage's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. It's a different story for Mountain Heritage, though, as they've only averaged .277. Will they be able to contain Madison's hitters?
Madison was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain Heritage in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 6-2. Will Madison repeat their success, or does Mountain Heritage have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
