The Central Crossing Comets came into Wednesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 47-39 win over Northland on Wednesday. The win was just what Central Crossing needed coming off of a 63-36 loss in their prior game.
Central Crossing's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Whitney, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitney has scored all season. Cheyenne Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Central Crossing's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Northland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Crossing will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newark is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Northland, they will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Linden-McKinley is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
