2A Tri-River recap Sept. 26, 2012
Waldport's Caleb Bullock rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A Tri-River this season in his game against Warrenton last week. Bullock's team defeated the Warriors as he sprinted for 60 yards on the play and finished with 105 in all.
Waldport was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Ed Townsend's team vanquished Warrenton 21-12 earlier in the week.
The Irish's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. TJ Fisher threw for 160 and one touchdown and Bullock had 127 yards receiving. Kraig Pruett helped Waldport's passing attack out by catching four balls for 33 yards.
Waldport's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Irish feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Fisher has thrown for 677 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Pruett has 24 catches for 366 yards. Matthew Clark leads the league in rushing with 368 yards.
Waldport moved up to 153 from 185 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Tri-River. The Irish climbed the ranks as a result of a 21-12 win over John Mattila's team.
