The North Johnston Panthers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Beddingfield by a score of 57-55. The result was an unpleasant reminder to North Johnston of the 57-41 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Kamyla Hill was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds for Beddingfield. Hill has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natasha Marshall, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five steals.
North Johnston's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Beddingfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
North Johnston will stay at home for another game and welcome Goldsboro at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Goldsboro is coming into the match with seven straight victories on the road, meaning North Johnston will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Beddingfield, they will face off against Eastern Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Beddingfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
