Centennial's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Slawnyk, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Bryson Hornbacher, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Thayer Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Will Heitmann, who scored 18 points, and Sam Souerdyke who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Thayer Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Centennial's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Thayer Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Centennial will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fillmore Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. As for Thayer Central, they and the Wolverines will face off at 12:45 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Wilber-Clatonia is ranked 110th, while the Titans are ranked 128th).
