After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Eye, the School of the Ozarks Patriots were happy to have found some success on Monday. They had just enough and edged Exeter out 56-54. This was payback for School of the Ozarks, who suffered a 34-31 defeat the last time these two teams met.
School of the Ozarks was led to victory by Graham Wilhoit and Shadrach Thompson. Wilhoit scored 9 points along with 14 rebounds, while Thompson dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Wilhoit is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Caleb Widner was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 4 steals.
School of the Ozarks' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Exeter, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
School of the Ozarks will be playing in front of their home fans against Pleasant Hope at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Hope knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully School of the Ozarks likes a good challenge. As for Exeter, they will head out on the road to face off against Purdy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
