Basketball Recap: Maricopa Institute of Technology Drops Season-High Score on Empower College Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maricopa Institute of Technology). They strolled past the Empower College Prep Wolf with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 41-22. While Maricopa Institute of Technology didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Maricopa Institute of Technology's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Empower College Prep, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-5.

Maricopa Institute of Technology will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Heritage Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Empower College Prep and ASU Prep will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Empower College Prep is facing ASU Prep at the right time seeing as ASU Prep is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
