Windsor can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They really took it to Analy for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-7 win on the road. Windsor pushed the score to 45-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Analy cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Santa Rosa at home to the tune of 62-7. Given Cardinal Newman's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Santa Rosa is ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Zachary Homan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Homan was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Another big playmaker for Cardinal Newman was Jonah Bertoli, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Windsor's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.67 points. As for Cardinal Newman, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Windsor barely slipped by Cardinal Newman when the teams last played back in November of 2022, winning 14-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
