The Leesville Road Pride will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Richmond Raiders at 7:00 p.m.
Leesville Road unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 33-23 to Cardinal Gibbons.
Leesville Road's defeat came about despite a quality game from Lyfe Shaw-stephens, who rushed for 95 yards, and also threw for 25 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Roan Naik did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals.
Meanwhile, Richmond's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Scotland by a score of 35-28. The victory was familiar territory for Richmond who now have four in a row.
Richmond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Domonic Tillman led the charge by throwing for 231 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was JV Drake, who picked up 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Leesville Road's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Richmond, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Leesville Road didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Richmond when the teams last played back in November of 2021, but they still walked away with a 19-14 win.
