If the Voyageur Academy Cougar were feeling good off their 83-42 takedown of the Advanced Tech Academy Lakers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Voyageur Academy took a 63-47 bruising from Franklin on Tuesday. The game was a 26-26 toss-up at halftime, but Voyageur Academy was outscored by Franklin in the second.
Mitch Cronyn continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Franklin, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Robbie Wynn, who scored five points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Voyageur Academy bumped their record down to 1-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Franklin, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Voyageur Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Ecorse at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Ecorse is ranked 223rd, while Voyageur Academy is ranked 200th). Franklin will be home for the holidays to greet Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Farmington comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
