Niles West came tearing into  Saturday's  game with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over the Payton College Prep Grizzlies. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Grizzlies, too.
 Scott Stewart tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Niles West is 4-2 when he allows at  most  three  earned runs, but 10-12 otherwise.
 At the plate,  Christian Guzman was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in March.  Lucas Som was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with three  runs and one  stolen base.
Niles West pushed their record up to 14-14 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Payton College Prep,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 12-17.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Niles West will take on Highland Park at 4:45  p.m.  on Monday. The Giants' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9  runs per game  this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Payton College Prep, they will challenge Maine West at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
