The Lakes Lancers posted their closest win since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They had just enough and edged Silas out 48-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lakes.
Lakes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ehmarii Mcchristian led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Samara Oliver, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Silas saw an underclassman step up: Annique Smith scored 32 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Lakes has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Silas, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Spanaway Lake the next time they take the court. Silas will host Spanaway Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lakes will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
