Sheets Memorial Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Asheboro Hybrid Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Sheets Memorial Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Karter Dykes and Levi Ferguson. Dykes scored 14 points, while Ferguson scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him.
It was another big night for Levi Gaskins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds for Asheboro Hybrid Academy. Gaskins set a new season high mark in steals with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Autry, who scored 13 points.
Sheets Memorial Christian bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Sheets Memorial Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Scotland Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
