While losing is never fun, Wickenburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Northwest Christian is ranked 84th).
It was another big night for Katelyn Best, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Northwest Christian. Best has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Juliana Larson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Wickenburg has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Northwest Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wickenburg will challenge Bourgade Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Camp Verde at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
