Softball Recap: Concord Takes Down Ranked Brandywine

Concord faced Brandywine in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders blew past the Bulldogs 25-3. Considering the Raiders have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the sixth in a row for Concord, bringing their record up to 12-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brandywine, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord will head out to square off against Conrad Science at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Brandywine, they will venture away from home to challenge Wilmington Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Force at the right time seeing as the Force are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
