The Lake Mead Academy Eagles will be playing at home against the White Pine Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lake Mead Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six matches.
Lake Mead Academy can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest two weeks ago. They really took it to Needles for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-14 win on the road. Given Lake Mead Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 31st in Nevada, while Needles is ranked 649th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Mead Academy found their leader in underclassman Jerry Meyer iii, who threw for 346 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt. Meyer iii hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for eight straight games. Bowe Farmer was another key contributor, picking up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, White Pine had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They secured a 26-22 W over GV Christian on Thursday. The victory was just what White Pine needed coming off of a 48-6 loss in their prior matchup.
Lake Mead Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for White Pine, their victory bumped their record up to 1-6.
