The Calvary Day Cavaliers can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 62-38 margin over Beach. Given Calvary Day's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Beach is ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Calvary Day to victory were Zora Geiger and Destini Gooddine. Geiger dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Gooddine scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gooddine has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amariah Jones, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Calvary Day is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Beach, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Savannah Christian the next time they take the court. Calvary Day will host Savannah Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Beach will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
