The Conifer Lobos will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Skyview Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skyview took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Conifer, who comes in off a win.
Conifer is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Montbello. The Lobos were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Warriors on Thursday.
Brandon Roe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Roe was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dillon Tracy was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Janasiewicz, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Conifer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montbello only posted an OBP of .417.
Meanwhile, Skyview unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 15-6 to Longmont on Tuesday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Skyview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Humberto Chavez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Marcus Archuleta was another, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Conifer skirted past Skyview 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Do the Lobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
