The Fremont Tigers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Lincoln North Star Navigators at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. Fremont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
Fremont took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They snuck past Omaha South with a 56-51 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Maurice Bryant continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 15 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Toben, who posted 13 points.
Fremont was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Lincoln North Star waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 48-45 win from a begrudging Navigators squad. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since February 15th.
Fremont better focus on containing Jordan Castor and Jakeyce Fowler as the pair were huge in Lincoln North Star's win. Castor went 9 of 15 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists, while Fowler went 6 of 9 on his way to 17 points. Castor is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was William Schafer, who put up three points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Lincoln North Star pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fremont, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fremont has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27 boards per game. However, it's not like Lincoln North Star struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Fremont won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January, slipping by Lincoln North Star 58-57. Does Fremont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lincoln North Star turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
