Madden Brabec Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Wood River got the W thanks in part to Madden Brabec playing the best football he has all season. Brabec rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 105 yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 85 yards.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Wood River, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Brabec and Wood River will venture away from home to challenge Doniphan-Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

The second Wood River player making an appearance here is Beau Rohrich, and for good reason. He rushed for 209 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
For the season, Rohrich has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 177.5 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 10.13 rushing yards per game.

Joey Stoner posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Saturday. He rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.
Fillmore Central is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. Stoner and Fillmore Central will be playing at home against St. Cecilia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ethan Ballard's big game helped extend Doniphan-Trumbull's winning streak to five on Friday. Ballard was dynamite, throwing for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground.
This year, Ballard has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 165.6 passing yards per game.
