The Shaler Area Titans will take on the Hampton Talbots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shaler Area came out on top against Mars on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 16-run third inning. The Titans put the hurt on the Fightin' Planets with a sharp 21-5 victory. The Titans are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hampton). They were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over Ambridge on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Talbots in their matchups with the Bridgers: they've now won seven in a row.
Teresa Fritsch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Fritsch was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Hampton let Addi Hanna and Eden Lawrence run wild. Hanna went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Lawrence went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Lawrence has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Peck, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Hampton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ambridge struck out six times.
Hampton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Shaler Area, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
Shaler Area skirted past Hampton 4-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Talbots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
