Given the Hilltoppers' advantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 350th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 707th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Armstrong over Heritage in every quarter on their way to victory  on Thursday. Armstrong strolled past Heritage with  points to spare, taking the game  81-62.
 Armstrong's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Mt. Pulaski, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
 Mt. Pulaski didn't have too much breathing room in their  game against Armstrong  in their previous meeting  back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with  a  64-58 victory. Will Mt.
