Northeast is 1-8 against Dunedin since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northeast Vikings will be playing at home against the Dunedin Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Northeast: 3.8, Dunedin: 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Northeast got the win against Largo by a conclusive 13-1. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Packers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Danielle Brunner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She also put up two walks, which were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three).
In other batting news, Lashell Roberts was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Makayla Simon was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Northeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Largo only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Dunedin is still undefeated this season after their contest against Sunlake on Friday, but Sunlake came as close as anyone has to beating them. Dunedin came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Sunlake. While the Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Like Northeast, Dunedin also got a great game from a two-way player: Abby McLemore. She struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). McLemore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Millican, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Northeast's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.8 runs. As for Dunedin, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Both Northeast and Dunedin just can't seem to miss. Northeast has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Dunedin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northeast took their victory against Dunedin when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4. Will Northeast repeat their success, or does Dunedin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
