Matthew Nevarez Delivers Best Performance of Season
Matthew Nevarez produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Nampa Christian to the win on Friday. Nevarez rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He has become a key player for Nampa Christian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Parma had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Nevarez it was a similar story. Nevarez rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Panthers duked it out back in September of 2023.

Payton Travis's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his third-straight game with 108+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Marsing's probably not too fond of Travis given he always seems to get the better of them. When Travis last faced the Huskies back in September of 2023, he rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
