The Warren Lumberjacks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. Everything went their way against Monticello as Warren made off with a 42-21 win. The result was nothing new for Warren, who have now won six matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Monticello's loss came despite strong showings from Jontavion Jackson and Ja?quayvius Rhodes. Jackson rushed for 138 yards, while Rhodes rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. Jagger Hines got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Warren's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Monticello, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Monticello, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Star City at 7:00 p.m.
