Jaquan Griffin Turns in Season-Best Effort
Middlesex was led to victory by Jaquan Griffin, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Griffin rushed for 358 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 18.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 59 yards.
Charles City's probably not too fond of Griffin given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Griffin saw the Panthers), he picked up 37 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Shane Jones Has Career Rushing Day
Sadly, Shane Jones posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Charles City over Middlesex on Friday. Jones rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 100 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 67 yards.
Charles City is on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Jones and Charles City are taking a road trip to square off against King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Delaney Made His Presence Known in West Point's 15-14 Win
Chris Delaney posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
On the year, Delaney has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 70.9 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 38.86 rushing yards per game.

Nathan Powell Makes It Two for Middlesex
