Even though the Owen Warhorses scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, the Draughn Wildcats still came out on top. Draughn took their matchup against Owen 76-64. That's another feather in the cap for Draughn, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Owen still got an impressive performance from Jack Wesley Burk, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asante Martin, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Draughn is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season. As for Owen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Draughn will face off against Avery County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Owen on the road again on Friday and play against Mitchell at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Mitchell's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
