Stanton County hadn't done well against Elkhart recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 19-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

David Crane made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Crane was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

Stanton County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Stanton County pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Elkhart, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Stanton County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
